Movie Review – Unknown – Several folks have compared this film to Liam Neesons 2008 film Taken. Both have a related thought, Liam goes on a fast-paced journey to get back something special that has been stolen from him. Now it is not his daughter that is taken, it’s his mind. Unlike Taken, Unknown is more like a suspense thriller than an action film. There are a few chases and fight scenes, but that will not be the major focus as we watch the free movie online. The picture’s storyline is focus and it’s unique for it truly is unpredictable. We are puzzled much like Neeson’s character and many times we don’t know if he will be successful. There are numerous twists and unlike a lot mystery thrillers, it took me more than halfway through the motion picture to figure it all out.
All in all, Unknown is a fairly good mystery thriller. Very good performances. Great story for a mystery. Good music. Good photography, I specifically like the whole gray, dreary surroundings that reflects the movies location’s dreary weather. Excellent twists. Good suspense, the sound mixers must have had a good time in adding emphasis on sound effects to startle the viewers. The one factor I will observe is that Liam Neeson is really displaying his age. This really is not necessarily a negative factor, on the contrary, it will help his character out. It gets tiresome in a free movie download that Hollywood constantly uses the generic 30-something actor with six pack abs who is tossed into a trying predicament. It is good to see an aging actor play an upper middle age man who has possibly lost his mental faculties while running away from those people wanting to kill him.
