Breast Cancer Fundraising Made Easy

In todays economy it is so hard to raise money for different causes.  With the entrance fee’s to participate in various walks rising, it is geting harder and harder.  What do you do after you have asked family and friends for donations?  You sell merchandise. There are great sites like www.fundraisingforacause.com that sell pink ribbon breast cancer merchandise at wholesale prices so you can resell and raise LOTS of money.   We have found that people wont write you a check for for a donation but WILL write you a check for 20 for a bracelet.  Let’s face it, in today’s economy people want something for their money.  Here are tips on selling breast cancer merchandise.

Make sure you pick a store that has high traffic area.  You need volume.  You may think the local health food store is a great location, but how many people are really going through their doors on a Sat/Sun vs a Walmart?  Your goal is to exposure yourself to a large number of people within a short amount of time.
Location Suggestions:  Walmart, Target, Kmart, Sams Club, supermarkets, Flea   Market, Church event, sporting events, a popular local restaurant. Have a pink ribbon party at your house and sell the merchanidse, sell to co-workers.
When calling a Walmart/Sams Club store ask to speak to the person who coordinates the fundraising.  They will tell you what dates they have available.  Any Saturday or Sunday will be great.

You will need a 30×60 banquet table.  Any smaller table you can’t display your merchandise properly. You can buy an inexpensive folding banquet table at Target for about .  It is well worth the investment as it folds up making it easily transportable.   Make sure you set your table up where it is visible and when people are leaving the store.  People are more inclined to buy something when they leave the store so they don’t have to carry the items around.  We highly recommend a banner to draw people to your table.
Make sure your table looks professional.  Place a plain pink tablecloth on the table. Do not use one that has prints as it will take away from the merchandise being sold on the table and make your table look “busy”.
Get a banner or large sign (available on our site) and tape to the front of the table to make your table look professional and draw attention to you.  You could also hang one behind you if there is a wall.  Balloons to draw attention.  Make sure your items are organized and displayed on the table.  Group all like items together.
You have two options for displaying pricing.  You can buy a plexi glass picture holder for a couple of dollars and print off our sign template or print off individual signs to display next to each item being sold. Fundraising For A cause also sign templates that are absolutely free for you to use.  Just print them off using a color printer and get a black magic marker and mark your price you are selling them for.
Get a shoe box or other container to hold your money.  Make sure if you leave the table for any reason you have someone watching the money.
Put a glass bowl with a sign saying donations.  People who dont buy anything may still give you a donation.
Be vocal.  Dont just stand there.  Say, Raising Money for Breast Cancer or Help us by buying a breast cancer bracelet for ?
Make sure you have an assortment of items at different price points.  Have pink silicone bracelets and sell for or just say free with a donation and then have bracelets that you sell for .  By having an assortment of different priced items you are allowing everything to feel like they are contributing regardless of how much money they have to spend. www.fundraisingforacause.com has a great assortment of items to choose from.
Lastly have fun.  You will be amazed at how many people come up to you with a story to tell.  Breast Cancer affects everyone and it will prove that what you are doing is really a good thing.

One person CAN make a difference!
